Tooth Repair by Bonding

One way to determine how strong a cosmetic dentist’s ability and artistry really are, is to study his ability to do a great bonding job. Unlike veneers, the artistic dentist cannot rely on a lab and lab technician but must rather master the skills of sculpturing. By definition a Sculpture is three-dimensional artwork created by shaping or combining hard materials, typically stone such as marble or metal; glass or wood. Softer ("plastic") materials can also be used such as clay, textiles, plastics and polymers. This entails talent, know-how and a lot of hands-on approach to develop such skills.

A bonding is a white, plastic-like material, which can be securely attached to the enamel. The goal is to close gaps, fill cavities (after caries removal leaves behind a hole in the tooth) and mask stains.

In the next case a patient had severe white stains from wearing braces. These stains do not come off and are permanent. There are common after wearing braces for several years and develop under the braces. In this case we opted for no prep, no shot solution: Sandblasting and removal of the stains. Application of the dental composite resin material in the perfect shade and curing via a blue light (UV light) for the front 4 teeth.

The results are impressive. No more white stains and no removal of healthy tooth structure was necessary. The shape and form of the teeth is unchanged and the color match is perfect.

Our composites are free of BPA, a chemical usually resent in plastic such as baby bottle, can lining, plastic bottles. It is very important to me that my work will not only look great but also does not harm the patient in any form, way or shape.
