That is what I personally believe in, to be able to do treat my patients in multiple categories (rootcanals, extraction, dental surgeries, cosmetic bondings, crowns, bridges and advanced cosmetic dentistry) without having to refer you to different offices and locations. In special complex cases such as total reconstructive and smile makeover cases, I do however refer and I work with the best specialists in Los Angeles.

2. Education and Background

Born and raised in Germany, I attended my dental education (1990- 1996) in one of Europe’s finest dental schools. The University of Aachen. Compared to a four year dental school program in the US, a six year curriculum is mandatory in order to become licensed within the European Union (EU). A Dr. of Dental Medicine Degree (DMD) is awarded upon completion. DMD degrees are awarded in the US at dental schools in the east coast such as Harvard University. Compared to a DDS degree given at most universities in the west coast (UCLA, USC), a DMD dentist focuses more on the overall body.  Studies include general anatomy (vs. anatomy only of the head and neck in a DDS program), Dermatology, General Surgery, Psychology, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Maxiofacial Surgery Pathology and more. Dentists in Germany are trained in all categories of dentistry; therefore dentists are able to treat patients for extractions, root canals, reconstructive dentistry and dental surgery.
Although trained in all categories of modern dentistry, my main interest always lied in the field of cosmetic and reconstructive (prosthodontics) Dentistry. After working in Germany for two years, I decided to immigrate to the United States in 1998. I took the California dental board in 2000 at UCLA. While studying in the US for my dental boards, I participated in an “Advanced Education in Prosthodontics” post graduate program at USC and an “Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at UCLA. Both programs as well as many post doctoral courses in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry gave me advanced knowledge and hands on experience in these great fields of modern dentistry.
